NEW
PROJECT!
We (parents of teens fighting
cancer, specialist health workers,
teenagers, other fundraisers, and
the amazing Charlie Miller) are at
the very early stages of a wonderful
new fundraising project for Teenage
Cancer Trust.
As many of you will know, when some
people undergo chemotherapy, they
lose their hair. That's tough to
cope with at any age but especially
so as a teenager. Teenagers are
given acrylic wigs but you can't do
much with these wigs. We have heard
of a number of instances where the
journey from losing hair to
acquiring a wig was fairly
traumatic.
Our goal is to make that journey
easier and more pleasurable too.
We will publish a leaflet or
booklet, written mainly by
teenagers who have lost their hair
and who really understand what
happens. We will also provide real
hair wigs to teenagers - these wigs
are much more natural than the
acrylic wigs and can be fashioned to
suit different moods for different
days! And finally, we plan to
provide an aftercare service.
I am sure as we progress, we will
modify our plans but it is a
wonderful opportunity to help
teenagers with cancer right now. my
personal goal is to raise £10,000
at the two fantastic fashion events
in September and November. Of
course, if you would like to
contribute to our
